The Mikado 2014

“splendidly done”

All Edinburgh Theatre

In celebration of 100 EUSOG shows we revisit the year of our founding, 1961, to present Gilbert & Sullivan’s classic operetta ‘The Mikado’.
Step inside the Mikado’s government offices and join Nanki-Poo, a young busker, as he searches for his heart’s true love, Yum-Yum. However, a law against flirting and an arranged marriage to the fearsome Katisha soon causes things to take a turn for the worse. With an array of colourful characters, absurd comedy and famous songs, this exciting show follows hot on the heels of a 5-star November show, and the Edinburgh Evening News’ ‘Best Production’ at the Fringe 2013. As one of the most famous Savoy operas it’s certainly not one to be missed!
